Frequently Asked Questions

Is THCA Legal in Costa Rica?

You might be thinking that there’s no way THCA is legal considering the fact that it’s the precursor to delta 9 THC, the key compound that makes marijuana illegal.  Well, as it turns out, it’s completely legal according to federal law.  Costa Rica law states that all hemp products are legal, including those of a psychoactive nature, with just one stipulation: hemp products may not contain beyond 0.3% delta 9 THC.  THCA, being a different compound, is completely permitted.

What are THC-A Flowers?

All (THC dominant) Cannabis is naturally high in THC-A. THC-A is the acidic precursor to THC Delta-9 and naturally forms before Delta-9 during the lifecycle of the cannabis plant. THC-A also converts to THC Delta-9 through Decarboxylation or heat.

How is THC-A different from THC?

THCA is non-psychoactive, meaning it does not produce a high. THC, on the other hand, is psychoactive. THCA converts to THC through a process called decarboxylation, which occurs when cannabis is heated (e.g., smoking, vaping, or cooking).

What are the benefits of THC-A?

THCA is being studied for its potential health benefits, which may include anti-inflammatory, neuroprotective, and anti-emetic properties. However, more research is needed to fully understand its effects and benefits.

How can THC-A be consumed?

THCA can be consumed in various forms such as raw cannabis, THCA tinctures, and concentrates. It can also be ingested in juices, smoothies, or added to salads. For those who want the benefits of THCA without the psychoactive effects of THC, it’s important to avoid heating the product.

Does THC-A Turn Into Delta 9 When Smoked?

Yes it turns into Delta 9 when smoked. When THCa flower is exposed to heat, such as through smoking, vaping, or cooking, decarboxylation occurs, converting THCa into its active form, Delta 9-THC. This process enables the psychoactive effects associated with cannabis consumption.

What are the legal considerations and restrictions on THC-A Flower?

THC-A flower generally faces fewer legal restrictions. Its non-psychoactive nature and lower THC content often place it in a category with more lenient regulations. However, it is still advisable to research and understand the specific legal framework surrounding THCa flower in one’s jurisdiction, as regulations can differ.

Should I buy THC-A Flower by the pound or by the ounce?

If you’re a frequent user, buying by the pound can be more cost-effective. For casual users or first-timers, buying by the ounce is a better option. Compare prices and consider your usage before deciding.

Why is THC-A recommended for sleep over THC?

THC-A in its raw form doesn’t cause a high and avoids the potential side effects of THC, like anxiety and paranoia. This makes it a better sleep aid for those who experience unpleasant effects from THC.

Is using THC-A as medicine legal?

THC-A in its raw form is generally legal under federal law, but state laws vary. Check your state’s cannabis regulations before purchasing. At Black Tie CBD, our THCa products are third-party tested for safety and quality.

What are the key differences between THC-A and THC-V?

THC-A converts to THC and is psychoactive when heated, while THCv has a similar structure but produces a weaker high. THCa can be used raw for non-psychoactive benefits or smoked for psychoactivity, whereas THCv’s effects are mild even at higher concentrations.

How does CBD differ from THC and THC-A?

THC-A can induce euphoria when heated and transformed into THC, while CBD remains non-psychoactive regardless of processing. THC and THCA are psychoactive once activated, whereas CBD does not produce intoxicating effects even in strains with trace amounts of THC.

Is THC-A psychoactive?

THC-A is non-psychoactive in its raw state but can induce a “high” once decarboxylated into THC.

Are there side effects of THC-A?

Side effects of THCA are unlikely in its raw form but may appear once it converts to THC through decarboxylation, similar to THC’s effects.
